Stories in Digital Media (SIDM) was a blog run by a few students and the professor Frieder Nake, part of the former Digital Media programme in the state of Bremen, Germany. By the end of the first decade of the millennium, the web and digital technology were advancing at an unprecedented pace in the social and artistic sphere. Developments were exciting, and we kept a log of some events and took time to reflect.

What you see here is a rendition of the content as it was back then, in a different, static archival representation. Enjoy this glimpse into a hopeful and exciting past.

A few years ago, when I dreamed of being a famous designer, one of the first great and inspiring websites I stumpled upon was neave's, an interaction designer from the UK. He had this funny Flash-frame which bended upon touching it with the mouse and wobbled back into its original shape after leaving it... and he had some other fun stuff, too. Like games, flash gadgets and so on. Last month, neave.com was updated. The wobble-frame is no more, but it looks excellent nevertheless and Paul also added some interesting Flash-experiments. AND... one of the best video collages I have ever seen. Be sure to check out his Television for a bunch of the most obscure, funniest and/or freakiest videos ever.
