Stories in Digital Media (SIDM) was a blog run by a few students and the professor Frieder Nake, part of the former Digital Media programme in the state of Bremen, Germany. By the end of the first decade of the millennium, the web and digital technology were advancing at an unprecedented pace in the social and artistic sphere. Developments were exciting, and we kept a log of some events and took time to reflect.

What you see here is a rendition of the content as it was back then, in a different, static archival representation. Enjoy this glimpse into a hopeful and exciting past.

Klausurtagung/convention Digital Media

This is unfortunately just an announcement for the German / German-speaking students amongst us. There will be a convention for the staff of the DM-program and some of its students in order to discuss (and maybe improve) some of the processes within the program Digital Media. Therefore, there will be a two-days "convention" (the German word "Klausurtagung" does not sound that fancy at all - more like sitting and talking far away from the actual world) from Friday, June 27 (early afternoon) till Saturday, June 28, 2008 somewhere close to Bremen. In German, unfortunately. If you want to go there, please send an Email to our coordinator Claudia Kessler (ckessler@hs-bremerhaven.de). Details will be announced soon. I will definitively join. It would be great if some other interested students would also come. This is a good opportunity to actually talk about hot topics and to look for solutions. And to meet a lot of the staff and some other students.

Sorry, I do not know any precise topic. They are still arguing about the agenda, that is why there is no official document until now. It would actually be really good if some students from each of our 4 universities are attenting the meeting. I know, that we are already enough guys from HFK, but I do not know about the other institutions. I can post any news as soon as I know. You can ask Claudia Kessler or your supervisors for details. They should know more. We should not be too much students going there, but at least a few from each location.
