since a while the compArt data base of digital art is online. the data base is developed and filled by the compArt group around frieder nake at the university of bremen. the online interface is based on drupal and was designed and implemented by me as a practical part of my master thesis.
it’s still unfinished, therefor feedback is even more appreciated as usually 
Next thursday, december 10th Frieder Nake and his fellows will start the compArt database on digital art. Due to that reason they invite to a social event, 18:00 the same day, within the third floor, OAS Linzer Str. 9a.

as i am willing to start working on my master thesis, i tried to find some theses from my old university. within a minute i landed on an online archive supervised by my former teacher rimbert rudisch. and it is super practical.
not only it provides a perfect latex template ready for instant usage it also includes an archive with master theses done for the mSc. programme “digital media” in hagenberg. (mostly in german i suppose – but english abstracts available). [*] the most recent ones are done by my former colleagues from the bachelor programme, i am really curious to find out what my colleagues have written their theses about…

Maybe some of you remember the Yes Men movie we saw at the Amerika Workshop a few months ago. In a very elaborate prank the Yes Men now published a fake New York Times titling “Iraq War Ends” and a lot of other wishful news in the 1.2 Million print fake issue. HI, I was looking for something to collaborate here and today I found it, and as my first post I would like to touch a topic usually understood as in the antipode of DM, it is our planet, the nature. Today is the World Environment Day, take a moment to think about it.

This is unfortunately just an announcement for the German / German-speaking students amongst us.
There will be a convention for the staff of the DM-program and some of its students in order to discuss (and maybe improve) some of the processes within the program Digital Media.
Therefore, there will be a two-days “convention” (the German word “Klausurtagung” does not sound that fancy at all – more like sitting and talking far away from the actual world) from Friday, June 27 (early afternoon) till Saturday, June 28, 2008 somewhere close to Bremen. In German, unfortunately.
If you want to go there, please send an Email to our coordinator Claudia Kessler (ckessler@hs-bremerhaven.de). Details will be announced soon. I will definitively join. It would be great if some other interested students would also come. This is a good opportunity to actually talk about hot topics and to look for solutions. And to meet a lot of the staff and some other students.

I want to build this piece of hardware and i’m looking for folks! So if you find this tool interesting drop me a line. And even if you don’t want to build it, you might help – i am looking for an broken VHS player or something similar which can be used as a case. HELP!!
