AEC festival

On September 3rd – 8th this years AEC festival takes place in Linz. It’s a special one, as this year the new building (see it here) of the AEC was opened, which increases the available space quite a bit. Also, Linz is European Capital of Culture (Linz09). Reasons enough for me to go there (who else is planning to visit it ???).

The programme features…

Also nice: The facade of the AEC will be illuminated during the festival by VJ’s hosted by FM4.

Looks like an in really nice programme. The reduced festival ticket costs 85 €.

Find more info on the festival website.

Transmediale.09: DEEP NORTH

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

January 28th – February 1st 2009 (Wed–Sun) at the House of World Cultures Berlin

Looking beyond the evolving alarmist scenarios of environmental catastrophe prevalent in the global warming debate, transmediale.09 shifts the focus of this challenge to the broader cultural, societal and philosophical consequences that the collapse of the northern ice barrier reveals. Are we about to reach another historically succinct moment of unavoidable and revolutionary change, a point of no return leading to an unforeseeable global transformation akin to the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago? Will it be a time in which we realise that everything will be different, without knowing how everything will be different?

Early Bird rebates until December 19th.

I am planning to have a trip like in the last time. Contact me (see the authors page) for more info.

A digital media mate needs help!

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

HI today I got the following email by a digital media mate.

Dear all,

I am developing prototype of a web-based film terminology glossary, based on the former master project from Hochschule Bremerhaven called ACT! (www.act-project.de). In ACT! project, we developed an audiovisual film glossary DVD which visualized film terms in different media: video, picture, animation and illustration. For the sake of sharing and to expand the capability of film glossary, I am interested in developing ACT! in web platform.

As basis in developing a usable application, I would like to gather user’s requirements regarding features and content structure. For that purpose, I’m spreading out surveys around to potential users.

If you do not mind, please fill out my survey. The questionnaire consists of short questions and will only take a few minutes.

Here is the link to my survey:
http://vita.inf.hs-bremerhaven.de/~vputri/limesurvey/index.php?sid=92542&lang=en

If you have another person who are likely related to this subject, it would be really great if you forward the survey to that person too.

Your participation in the survey will really help to complete my thesis.
Thank you in advance and I hope you will achieve much success in your study.

kindly regards,

Vita Amanda Putri
