A digital media mate needs help!

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

HI today I got the following email by a digital media mate.

Dear all,

I am developing prototype of a web-based film terminology glossary, based on the former master project from Hochschule Bremerhaven called ACT! (www.act-project.de). In ACT! project, we developed an audiovisual film glossary DVD which visualized film terms in different media: video, picture, animation and illustration. For the sake of sharing and to expand the capability of film glossary, I am interested in developing ACT! in web platform.

As basis in developing a usable application, I would like to gather user’s requirements regarding features and content structure. For that purpose, I’m spreading out surveys around to potential users.

If you do not mind, please fill out my survey. The questionnaire consists of short questions and will only take a few minutes.

Here is the link to my survey:
http://vita.inf.hs-bremerhaven.de/~vputri/limesurvey/index.php?sid=92542&lang=en

If you have another person who are likely related to this subject, it would be really great if you forward the survey to that person too.

Your participation in the survey will really help to complete my thesis.
Thank you in advance and I hope you will achieve much success in your study.

kindly regards,

Vita Amanda Putri

Oblong Inds. presents a spatial interaction to good to be true. Now, if I could afford a MS Surface table and get this here… I would degrade it to a… well, a table.

The Yes Men strike again

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Maybe some of you remember the Yes Men movie we saw at the Amerika Workshop a few months ago. In a very elaborate prank the Yes Men now published a fake New York Times titling “Iraq War Ends” and a lot of other wishful news in the 1.2 Million print fake issue. They also created a fake website. Here’s what the original has to say.

That president is so sympathetic that it almost scares me. But it’s also the confirmation and fulfilment of the strategies he pursued during his campaign: running a campaign 2.0.

Máquinas&Almas (“Souls&Machines”)

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

HI, currently at the Reina sofia museum there is an interesting exhibition called Máquinas&almas, souls&machines, a very appropriate to name to discuss in our digital media times ;-) . The aim at this exhibition is to explore those blurry areas where art and technology meet and melt, for that purpose they propose us a trip through the work of a generation of people whose pieces marked remarkable milestones in defining limits and positions in new media practice and critique.

Material : a short video about it and a photo gallery here.
